Club 1680
Club 1680 brings together those who gave financial support to our institution before and especially during the health crisis — whether through direct donations to the Fondation or by donating to the Comédie-Française the value of their cancelled performance tickets.
Today, more than 240 members who have made online donations of under €2,000 per gift are part of Club 1680. We periodically invite them to support projects related to heritage preservation, transmission and artistic creation.
Each month, members receive a newsletter offering insights into the Maison, its history, the Troupe, current news and programming.
Support the Comédie-Française and join Club 1680 to back ambitious new projects.

Club 1680 contributed €12,000 to the project Les jeunes rendent hommage à Molière — a national and international competition for primary, secondary and higher education students. Participants choose one or two quotations by Molière, interpret them creatively and produce a video of approximately ten minutes. A jury composed of members of the Comédie-Française and the French national education system selected the best tributes. Prize-winners will be honoured at a ceremony in June 2026 and their videos broadcast on the Maison's channels.

Club 1680 contributed €8,600 to the restoration of the painting Les Sociétaires en 1851 by Edmond Geffroy

Club 1680 contributed €6,612 to the creation of the production Le Chien - Les Contes du chat perché, presented at the Studio-Théâtre between 23 March and 7 May 2023.

The 2022 Molière season provided Club 1680 with the opportunity to renew its steadfast support for the Comédie-Française. The fundraising campaign launched on 1 December 2021 raised €8,000 in just two months.
These donations made possible two exceptional projects: the restoration of Molière's armchair and the exhibition Molière sur scène, presented at the Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier.

The fundraising appeal for the Bureau des jeunes lecteurs-auteurs, launched on 1 March 2021, raised over €15,000 in just over two months of campaigning.
This first fundraising drive was a real success: thanks to Club 1680, 17 young people benefited from a unique educational programme comprising script-reading committees and writing and acting workshops, totalling more than 60 hours throughout the 2021–2022 season. The 17 participants also attended all the productions in the Molière Season.
