The Fondation pour la Comédie-Française
Support the Comédie-Française
"The Fondation pour la Comédie-Française, operating under the aegis of the Fondation de France, brings together the philanthropic support of companies and individuals who have committed themselves to the Comédie-Française. They provide, often over many years, the financial support that is indispensable to maintaining its artistic excellence and its ambitious projects — in the creation of new works and the presentation of the theatrical repertoire, for a broad and diverse public — while also preserving and enhancing its exceptional heritage, thus helping the Troupe and the entire Maison de Molière to continue a journey begun more than 300 years ago.
The Fondation pour la Comédie-Française celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026, and already brings together nearly three hundred individual donors and some forty corporate supporters.
Thanks to each and every one of them, we have been able to provide the funding sought by the Comédie-Française to work with renowned French and international artists, to develop outreach initiatives for young people and wider audiences, to support international tours, to encourage digital distribution, to restore the Salle Richelieu, and to enrich the unique collection of manuscripts and works of art assembled by the Comédie-Française over the centuries.
If theatre is at the heart of your passions, make a commitment and join us at the Fondation pour la Comédie-Française — to experience theatre as close to the stage as possible, to share privileged moments with the actors of the Troupe, to participate in the life of the Maison as a whole or in specific projects close to your heart.
For those of you for whom theatre is essential — as a means of better understanding ourselves and one another — bring your contribution to a robust and structured philanthropic endeavour that provides the Comédie-Française with sustained financial support."

President of the Fondation pour la Comédie-Française
Supported projects
Productions, tours, acquisitions and restoration of heritage works, as well as initiatives in the medico-social sector and educational activities — all are ways of celebrating theatre.

Each season, the Comédie-Française presents around a dozen new productions across its three venues (Salle Richelieu, Théâtre du Vieux-Colombier and Studio-Théâtre). This rich and varied programme brings works from the Répertoire into dialogue with contemporary writing, while also incorporating musical productions and performances aimed at young audiences. Performed by the actors of the Troupe, these productions also draw on the Maison's ateliers, where each year numerous sets, props, costumes, wigs and hairpieces are created using exceptional craft skills, making a full contribution to the artistic standards of the productions.
In this context, the Fondation pour la Comédie-Française brings together donors who wish to support new productions, contribute to the enrichment of the Répertoire, champion the savoir-faire of the ateliers, and encourage the integration of technological innovation in the service of stage direction.

The Comédie-Française is committed to making theatre accessible to the widest possible audiences, both in France and internationally. It develops ambitious cultural outreach and mediation projects for young people, for audiences in the medico-social sector, and for people with disabilities, through programmes that combine performances, workshops, visits and meetings with artistic teams.
In parallel, the Comédie-Française upholds a long tradition of touring, with performances given in more than 80 countries. Large-scale company productions as well as solo shows enable the Comédie-Française to perform in theatres of very different sizes, presenting to audiences a range of forms and writing that reflects the full diversity of its programming.
The Fondation pour la Comédie-Française supports these outreach projects and seeks donors who wish to accompany the theatre in the development of these initiatives, in order to promote the widest possible access to the works.

The Comédie-Française, home to a library-museum unique in the world, holds an exceptional collection tracing the history of French theatre since the 17th century: archives, account books, correspondence, publications, drawings, paintings, sculptures, models, photographs and audiovisual documents. The enrichment of these collections relies on gifts, bequests and the support of donors, making it possible to acquire missing pieces and strengthen the historical coherence of the collection.
The conservation and restoration of these works require specific and ongoing care, and donors play an essential role in supporting this work. The heritage is further promoted through its presentation to the public and its availability to researchers, as well as through the funding of exhibitions and digitisation programmes for archives and documents, enabling everyone to discover and study this exceptional legacy.
