Launched during the 2023-2024 season, our series C’est lundi au Vieux-Co (Vieux-Co Mondays) is the perfect opportunity to get an overview of key artists and common themes through six unique sessions: readings, lectures, and sometimes music sessions featuring leading figures of the arts, each ready to share expert yet highly accessible perspectives. Fashioned in accordance with the baccalauréat curriculum or milestone anniversaries, the Lundi au Vieux-Co series is an invitation to cast a joyful, sidelong glance on things.

  • Comédie-Française’s 195th sociétaire François-Joseph Talma is considered to be one the greatest tragedian of theatre history. He was such a star in his time that the day of his funeral, two centuries ago, a huge crowd gathered to pay tribute to the actor Napoleon himself referred to as “a superiorly talented man and the best in his field in every way”. In an era which seems to produce fast Internet fame based on seemingly obscure criteria, this Vieux-Co Monday is an opportunity to explore the innerworkings of fame throughout the centuries.
